List of Mercenaries

Is there a list of mercenaries anywhere?

When I get an offer, I can't tell the stats of the commander or the units (just the number). It would be very nice to have a list of this.

There isn't one, most people know what the mercs are anyway. You could look up the Dom2 DB, there was a list of mercenaries included there that was originally compiled by Sunray and altered very little. Most of those mercs are exactly the same in Dom3.

It just doesn't have the unit numbers for the different types of heavy infantry etc.

You bet. They even have pages for Pythium serpent cult and Fomoria, albeit only placeholders so far. But they're definitely quite busy.
