Default Variants of T-72

There has been much discussed on the T-72 variants on other posts, so I thought that I would add a bit here. I hope that this can help. Regrettably, I am unsure of copywrite issues with the source I use (Janes). I am available on PM for further info:

(The date after the designation is the year that it was accepted for service with the Russian Army)

T-72 (1973)
T-72K (1973)
T-72 (1975) First export AKA: T-72 Model 1975
T-72A (1979)
T-72AK (1975)
T-72M (1980)
T-72M1 (1982)
T-72AV (1985)
T-72B (1985)
T-72BK (1985)
T-72B1 (1985)
T-72S (1987)
T-72S1 (1987)
T-72BM (1992)
T-72BU (Original designation of T-90)

*Export designations*

T-72M1 upgrade package
T-72 series upgrade package
1998 Russian T-72 MBT upgrade
2001 upgraded T-72M1 MBT
Russian Army upgrades
French power pack for Russian T-72 MBT
Booklet gunner's sight
KBP upgrade for T-72 MBT
Czech Republic T-72 CZ upgrade
T-72 MP upgrade
T-72AG upgrade
M-84 MBT
T-72 with mineclearing equipment
T-72 with PW-LWD mine clearance system
T-72 with 155 mm turret
MTU-72 AVLB
MTU-90 AVLB
BREM-1 armoured recovery and repair vehicle
IMR-2 combat engineer vehicle
Heavy infantry fighting vehicle
BMPT tank support vehicle
TOS-1 rocket system

The info on the variants above is available once I understand the copywrite issues. (ie: Cut and Paste) I will attempt a 'personalized' breakdown in the meantime. This could be quite large. Perhaps an attachment would be better?

nice job, on the attachment.

We'll find out if the new Soviet/Russian OBB meets this, tommorow. Before there where a few problems with T-72 disignations.

Just a nitpick, the Czech upgrade packages were T-72M3 CZ and T-72M4 CZ, where the M3 was planned without the NIMDA powerpack. Due to final number ordered, all tanks now are M4 variant.
