Default Shield idea for SE4,5

Read someone once saying you stick the same shield generator on a small ship it will be less protective placed on a larger ship because the protective energy shield si thinner and spread out more.

Makes sense. My idea would be to represent that by using class hull mounts for shields. I dont know if total protection should be reduced because more area would have to be covered the larger the ship or mb have the shields be more leaky than smaller ships.

Is this a good idea and has anyone ever done it before? I'm a big fan of limiting big ship supremacy and seems this would go a long way doing just that.

Except for where this is already represented by the hull of larger ships being, well, more... And that they both give both ships the same amount of shields. Those 100 hitpoints of protection are going to be a lot less with big ships.

Now with leaky shields, that sorta makes sense.
