Default Sound Issues

Has anyone else noticed odd sound issues, such as some sounds being played way too loud at times? It's most noticeable with the warp points but it happens alot in combat too.

There is a sound mod v1.1 by Tampa_Gamer. There is supposed to be a fix for the WP sound.

TG's sound mod also gets plagued by the same problem with multiple instances of the same sound - especially warp with multiple ships going through together.

There seems to be some sort of 'amplification' effect when many ships travel through a warp point together. Notice how many ships are moving when it seems loud. Isn't it always a larger number? While only one ship plays the sound at a lower volume. That's what I've been noticing, anyway. Whether that is somehow 'deliberate' (some sort of special code to increase the volume when many ships are involved?) or accidental I can't say.

I think what is also happening is that certain sound are marked for 3D effect (like combat effects) and others are simply 2D UI. It is the 3D effect ones that tend to be too loud if the camera position is near it, yet too soft if far away. I think its intentional, and it can certainly be tweaked via the SoundEffects.txt file settings (min/max distance), but I think it needs some work yet.

The multiple warp point sound effects getting louder is a separate issue that has been reported since the early beta versions.

I haven't noticed any 3D positional effects at all, in combat or otherwise. I've tried using different zoom levels and moving the camera around but the volumes seem random still. I'd have the camera looking away from the battle just to test it and still get the occasional loud burst of sound. Eh, maybe its my audio card...
