Everyone go on over to the Official site www.spaceempires5.com and contribute your minds. It's time for a change. We have our own home now. You no longer have to be that brother in law sleeping on the couch, eating all the food, and drinking all the soda or beer.

Come! See the many qualities of our new home. Sure!, there are improvements that need to be done. In due time! Come lend your suggestions! Get in early into the Space Empires Universe.

I can not make you leave. But let it be known that the powers that own this place do not have to come down here to evict you. They can simply, and very effectively, bombard you from orbit! You will have no way to fight them!

I think I will stay here as well Wade. The new site is fine, but honestly its forums such horribly and I just simply don't see any need to go there and be frustrated by a bad forum program. I like it here, its a nice place to be. I love it here, its home.

Shrapnel will always be the official forums to me.

We've got:
- great forums
- friendly admins
- nice people
- most of a decade of history
Overall: Totally awesome, with 7+ years of empirical evidence.

The new place:
- weak forums
- unknown admin(s)
- shortly to be filled with flash-in-the-pan retail gamers
- zero history
Overall: Wouldn't be signed up there if I wasn't a beta

Or even better, make se1 available for download there as part of space empires month.

I for one plan to visit both sites regularly, with a frequency depending on relative post volume. Currently I'm visiting Shrapnel daily and Strategy First weekly, on average. The only good reason I can think of to stop visiting here would be having insufficient time to follow multiple forums.

As far as BBS software goes, IMO UBB is the least bad commonly used software among the forums I've visited. The only Web interface I don't dislike was custom-coded by that site's Webmistress, but is reputedly a bear to maintain, and my preference for it seems to be a minority opinion among the regulars there.
