Default TFW: beginner questions

I've been tinkering with the demo. Very interesting implementation of ATF. I'm having a problem setting movement paths for units to go. Usually they don't move at all and I can see by the path info that they are in stop mode. With so many sub-menu settings available (and no manual to consult) I'm sure I'm missing something. Any advice here would be appreciated. Thanks. Also - since I'm posting - is the 24 bit v 32 bit issue mainly connecting with the overlay map feature?

Default Re: beginner questions

last question first: The ONLY reason for the 32 bit warning is the overlay maps. If you don't mind losing that capability, there is no problem with 32 bit color.

As to your first question, if you hit F1 and search for "path planning", it will explain the procedure. Also, if you click the "tutorial" button on the scenario selection window, before loading a scenario, it will open a web page that explains the procedures.

BTW, the release version of the game ships with a 150 page manual explaining this and much more.

But to get you started, when you plan the path, and the upside-down triangle is over the unit, just right-click on the triangle and it will turn to a "go" node, alowing the unit to start moving.
