Marine Corp EFV
Can any one give me any information on this vehicle? I was reading in Tom Clancys book, Marine, the EFV may have twin ATGM launchers for Javelins and its armor protection is better than the Bradley A3. With that said, the EFV in the game has a front armor of 6 while the Bradley A3 has 15 or 16. Any opinions on this or are the stats correct on it in the game. Also with a water speed of 45 mph, should it not have a faster water speed than eight in the game?

Try here: EFV at globalsecurity.org - good source of almost everything military.
Or here:
Official site
Some pics:
Also, it looks kind of strange - like a cardboard model or something .
It won't be armed witk atgms, unfortunately.

Re: Marine Corp EFV
From the "Leatherneck" magazine of Jan. 2005, the first AAAVs should be in service by 2007-2008, with the first ones going to the 1st MEF. Some interesting info-it has topped at 42mph on the water, its twin 23inch Jacuzzi water jets move 100,000 gallons of water per minute! I guess it is a good thing that testing/production is taking so long because they are putting some of the lessons learned from Iraq into the new AAAV. I like that photo of the AAAV with the High Speed Vessel-truly high speed amphibious operations and Over the Horizon Landings.

Something I would like to add, is that I wish they would also build an armed version of the AAAV. This would be a fire support version like the LVT A4, or the LVTH6. I think a turreted 120mm mortar would be a good idea.

Probably result of computer optimization, for better reflection angles with maximum volume and minimum bends, something like this.
BTW I've read that first stelth plane angular form was because computers which they were using were not powerful enough to optimize reflection/refraction equations for more smooth shape.

What a great icon! I saw an episode of Mailcall (History Channel US) which featured EFV. It is hard to believe that boxy amphib can float! It can really move! About time the Marines get some new firepower.

Re: Marine Corp EFV
Thats a really good looking icon. Will the patch also include a photo of the EFV?
