Scoring and \"friendly fire\"
Another quick question.
If, for example, in a Human Vs AI (or any other type for the matter) a friendly aircraft destorys a ammo dump/vehicle etc, are the points given to the AI/other player?
Thanks

Re: Scoring and \"friendly fire\"
A handly way to find things like this out, and learn about the game in the process, is to build a simple scenario on a small map with an ammo dump. Set the turns to 2 or 3 then buy an airstike and blow up the ammo dump and you'll see who gets the points. It's usually quicker to test than waiting for answers and you'll learn more

Re: Scoring and \"friendly fire\"
Thanks for the sound and obvious advice
Just done as you said, and bombed my own ammo dumps with my hunter aircraft, and the opposing forces got the points!!
Though, I imagine most people around here knew that already
Thanks once again.

Kill markers are different - I had an AML-90 fire HE into a hex which had another of the same platoon in the middle of enemy infantry, nd the HE round made the enemy withdraw. unfortunately, it also killed the other AML !.
On checking the firing AML's info - a nice shiny kill marker had been added. As far as the game is concerned - a kill is a kill.
(As an aside - I Read an account of an American flyer, one of the few to have Italian, German, and Japanese kills. As well as flags for these, he also had one USA Kill flag painted on his plane. A dakota was seen (lost) approaching a Japanese airfield he was attacking and trying to land, they could not get radio comms to it, so he hosed an engine of the transport, then as it flew off he hosed the other one, so forcing it to ditch into the sea, where the crew were later rescued. He was awarded an official "kill" for this unique way of waving off the friendly plane from the Japanese air base).

Speaking of Friendly Fire, I will be doing an SPMBT on that theme soon. It has happened and will continue to happen, I fear, in this day of modern war with unbelievable killing power.

Just played your latest scenario, and discovered all about friendly fire! Two of my ranger teams got caught in the napalm blast from the F16s
Perhaps my close in air support was a bit too close.

You can say that again. Just finished Scenario #105, Operation Starlite, and my jet jocks scored 6 kills. Unfortunately they were all "Blue on Blue," including a loaded APC, a helicopter and three groundpounders. Plus they damaged other friendly units before their Godlike commander finally called them off.
To be fair the enemy were hardly visible, although I could swear in at least one instance the friendly (APC) was at least a kilometer from the target hex. Anyway it's a tough scenario for air bombardment. Your guys are all over the battlefield so it's almost impossible to pick a safe flight path while "Charlie" is as elusive in SPMBT as he was in RL...
