Gtterdmmerung- The slaughter has begun
Hubris will host a new 24h quickhost game. In Contrast to our Faerun game we want this time a quick bloodbath .
Settings:
-8 players
-Zen's Items 1.0, Pretender 2.2, Spells 1.8 and Scales 1.2 mods
-50% Magic site frequency
-6 Indep strength
-Map: Desert Eye
-Renaming allowed
-HoF: 15
-Other settings: Standard
The game will probably be for the whole game 24h quickhost and it will be without special victory conditions.
Playerlist:
Hubris - Marignon
Aku - Ctis
Me - Ermor
Ed Kolis - Arco
Hacker Pschorr - Abysia
Cainehill - Pan
Manuk - Machaka
Qm - Atlantis

We have more then 8 players so we can start the game .

Re: Gtterdmmerung- New 8 player desert eye blood
Hmm, I will join... been a while since I played Dom2 though, so do I have to do anything before the game's set up besides state that I want to be Arcoscephale? (Well, that and locate all those mods you're using )

Thanks!
Ahh yes, all those schools of magic... makes me want to work on that roguelike again... I actually do have a very basic roguelike engine set up in Java right now (not the original C# one), actually - all you can do is run around this empty town level, but it's progressed a lot quicker than the first time I tried such a thing, if that means anything

We tried it in the weekend blitzes, and I think everyone wound up with quite a favorable impression of it. It makes it so that any hero you receive, you're happy to get, where before 80-90% of them (all the ones with no mage ability) were almost completely useless.
They all have some noticeably more hit points, typically somewhat better stats, often a special ability or two, and possibly an extra miscellaneous magic item slot. Now they're useful, whereas without the mod, let's face it....
You get the berserking Vanheim hero - if you don't put items on him, he dies in the first battle or two. If you do some decent items on him - he dies within five battles or so, usually losing the items for you.
Now : Farbaute has 22 HPs and 18 protection, enough to be used against independents at least. Arcos' Pathos Son of Titans now has Awe 2, 25 HPs, 25 protection and 15 strength. Seems like most of the melee heroes are now able to function as mini-thugs to one extent or another.
Gives another reason to consider Luck instead of Misfortune, and makes it worthwhile to try and keep the heroes alive, while still actually using them.
