Default Destroying ringworlds/shereworlds

What do you use to destroy a ringworld/shereworld: planet killers or starkillers? If planetkillers work, then wouldn't it be possible to have a system with planets but no star?

------------------
Assume you have a 1kg squirrel
E=mc^2
E=1kg(3x10^8m/s)^2=9x10^16J
which, if I'm not mistaken, is equivilent to roughly a 50 megaton nuclear bomb.
Fear the squirrel.

Argh! grasshopper you have found a problem. As they surround the star I don't think tht the sun killer will work and they are too big for the planet killers....
Danger Danger unable to cope with the reversed logic....
Ask Aaron to upgrade the planet killers to include them.

Nonono. . .

You can't use planet killers to kill sphere worlds, or ring worlds. They are completely different stellar techs. Its quite easy to make a 'planet killer' for SW and RWs, but I'd put it under a new tech tree, and the component would be at least 1000Kt in size, meaning you'd need a Base ship for it.

It takes sooo long to build them that it be unfair to allow easy cop-outs.

Given the sheer size of constructed worlds they ought to require something as huge to destroy them as to create them. Maybe not even a single component but a collection of bases just like construction. In other words, if you really want to destroy one you have to capture it the hard way first. Being able to sneak a planet-killer in with a cloaked ship would be just too cheap.

Ah, but it is so much easier to destroy than to create.
