Default Battlestar Galactica mission

I am playing the BSG mod and I have gotten to the part where I have to destroy a Basestar, well it is protected by 2 or 3 Attackstars and lots of fighter. I have about 30 fighters and I can't seem to survive. I lose my fighters pretty quick and then I die quickly after. Does anyone have any ideas that I could survive?

For one, try to put the basestar there between you and the attackstars.

Then you won't be hit by their guns, and your survival time will be greatly extended.

Also try getting in close and then dumping your fighters out at it. Then the fighters should all get at least one clear suckerpunch in on the basestar. (They'll be protected by your shields on the way in, and the huge volume of fire into one facing should cripple the basestar.)

It would also be a good idea to draw off their fighter screens with a feint. Get the fighters to chase you, and take them on in small Groups.

The BSG mod was originally in a number of separate zip files.

Imagemodserver has it all in one (11.5 Megs Zip or 8.5 Rar)

Imagemodserver should be pretty easy to browse...

From the imagemodserver root, http://imagemodserver.mine.nu/ you can just click Malfador Stuff, then choose SE4 or SF, then mods/tools/whatever you're looking for

I did a forum search, and I think you'll need this:
http://brique2.intelli.com/vhosts/tr...Landscapes.zip (11 meg)

Some optional atmosphere stuff I found too:
http://brique2.intelli.com/vhosts/tr...BSG/Music1.zip (20 meg)
http://brique2.intelli.com/vhosts/tr...BSG/Music2.zip (30 meg)
http://brique2.intelli.com/vhosts/tr...BSG/Music3.zip (20 meg)
