Shipbuilding Bug?
I've only been playing SE4 for a week so maybe this isn't a bug, but... I was playing a low-tech start game and ran into the Jhaerlen (sp?) Imperium and they immediately declared war. I tried to ignore them for awhile but eventually I had to go swat them. I went to the master build list (the wrench icon thingie) and everywhere I saw a shipyard I built a CA. The thing is, when one of the ships finished I went directly to the planet where the ship was built and the build ships button was greyed out. Of course the planet had no shipyard, it was just a mining colony. But there was a shipyard at another planet in the system. When I looked at the master build list again for the planet without a shipyard, it still showed a shipyard sysmbol. I figured this was a bug and didn't build anymore ships at those planets (didn't need them since I squashed those nasty little lizards flat), but was it really a bug? I'm patched up to the original 1.27 patch and I'm waiting for word that the updated patch can be installed without uninstalling the game before I use it.

Re: Shipbuilding Bug?
Let me see if I understand you? You can build things at planets without shipyards? Yeah sounds like a bug. Make a save game file showing this and send it too [email protected]
Also I don't think the updated patch will EVER be able to be used without reinstalling so if you don't want to reinstall you'll have to wait for about 2-3 months for the next patch. BTW: You'll want to get 1.27b becuase in the ealier Version the AI won't build any ships, So you will win everygame.

Hmm, I never saw or haven't noticed this one before. Were you playing 1.27b when it happened or 1.19?

Huh? You have to reinstall the entire game to use the 1.27b patch?

Re: Shipbuilding Bug?
No, you have to reinstall from the cd if you installed 1.27a and then want to install 1.27.b.

Re: Shipbuilding Bug?
Apparently the problem has to do something with patch 127 a and 127 b. I have downloaded the patch AFTER it turned out there was something wrong with the originally posted patch (127 a). I saw a lot of comments on the BB that IF you downloaded 127 a, the only solution was to reinstall the game before once again downloading 127 (b), which is now also supported on the home page of Malfador. ALSO SEE OTHER THREADS ON THIS ISSUE. For me, EVERYTHING WORKS FINE
