Default Blackline file changes for Modders

I am in the process of analyzing the changes to the \AI, \Data and individual race files with the most recent patch (1.27). As I did for the previous patch in December, I am posting blackline comparisons of the changed files against 1.19). As far as I can tell the only files (other than the .exe of course) that have changed and that modders may have to adjust for are the following:

\Data Directory

Components.txt (only Daynarr's APB change )
Settings.txt
Happiness.txt
SectType.txt (changed only a typo)
TechArea.txt (only decreased max ship construction level from 10 to 9)

\AI Directory

Default_AI_DesignCreation.txt
Default_AI_Construction_Vehicles.txt (only increased # fighters in several AI states)
Default_AI_Strategies.txt

\Pictures\Races (all individual races)

[Race]_AI_DesignCreation.txt

Since tThe zip file is so small, I decided to just attach it to this thread. Sorry for those that do not have Word, but that is all I have. I will also post comments as I review. Hope this helps!

I intend to review the changes to the AI_DesignCreation, Settings, TechArea and AI_Research files and will respond on this thread with anything of interest.

Actually, there's also that change in number of units per turn fighter bays, satellite bays and mine launchers can launch per turn.

From what you posted so far, does that mean that MM didn't even touch the rest of the ai files? There is still a lot work to be done to those files. When you get a chance after finishing the patch comparison document, could you let me know what you thought of my mod. Thanks and good work once again.

Yes and no. Even though the files were not changed, I think MM spent an extraordinary amount of time changing the way the files interact within the game (via hard-coded changes and based on the fixes list since 1.19). This is what we were looking for, since we can always modify the data\ai files. I really cannot offer further opinion until I play some games later this week.

Tampa_Gamer,

I've gone over the default_ai files since installing the new patch, and I haven't seen any changes to them. I'm going to be updating my mod soon, for now just use my old mod to test. Let me know when you need the next Version. Thanks
