Re: mIRC wont run nowdays
I was getting similar junk. The problem is specifically with the IRCnet servers. I suspect that someone hacked them ...

It may just be that the sites are getting heavy at banning ISPs. It might not be you. It might be Telia.net that is getting blocked.
ALso I think alot of them have added reverse-lookup in order to enforce their blocks against hackers that can change their machine names. Alot of ISPs arent very good at setting up reverse lookups on their IPs

Re: mIRC wont run nowdays
It'd be incredible if they blocked swbell.net, my ISP domain, since swbell.net is a part of a *major* ISP, SBC ...
What's more likely is that they've screwed up lookbacks for anyone behind a router.

Re: mIRC wont run nowdays
they can lock out large blocks of an ISP without blocking the whole thing.
As to routers, whether or not that properly handles reverse lookups isnt under the control of the IRC server. Its at the router end

If someone (like myself) was connecting just fine to a server, for weeks, and then suddenly I (and many others) cannot, the fault lies on the other end ...
