the description of the game says first person. but, the screens look like they may be 3rd person, or top down. or is the the cockpit view? i couldn't tell. also, since this game is set in the space empires universe, is it important to have played the space empire games to understand it? i've never played those games. although i'm thinking about playing SE4. thanks.

The playtesters might be able to answer that, if it doesn't fall under the NDA...

Nothing to worry about, for two reasons...

1) the Space Empires background (at least in SEIV) is pretty generic - no real need for any prior knowledge other than what will come with the game.

2) We're gonna mod the hell out of this thing anyways, so that Star Trek, Star Wars, and B5 Versions will be out and available here on the Boards before you can say "Metebelius III".
