Default Weekend Warrior PBW Game Idea..

Hello, Everyone

I was thinking that it might be nice if a "Weekend Warrior" PBW game was set up where the players involved would agree to play as many turns as possible over the weekends. (Like a PBW-Athon but stretched over a 48 hour period.) During the week, the turns would be set at 24 hours to get at least a turn/day in before the next weekend arrives.

Personally I think it might even be possible to create several "Weekend Warrior" Games and make it a kind of tournament. (Think KoTH but with say 4 players in each game.) The key to this is of course the "Weekend Warrior" theme where all players in a game commit to get in as many turns as possible over the weekends. "Group Marathon sessions" would be encouraged, In fact the second round slots could be filled in a first win first come basis.

I know this is probably not a novel idea, but what do you think? Anyone interested?

Cheers!

P.S. We could use #se4 at gamesurge.net as our meeting ground.

YES OFF COURSE i'm interested,

BUT: Most players are north-Americans and a less (as myself) are European, doesn't it slow down game play as ussual.

I mean : when I've got time to play the Americans are sleeping and vice versa. That's the main reason why mostly, only 1 turn a day is played, and not some day off in the weekend (I think).

Intimidator,

!! Or are you gonna sellect on timezone also ??

Well, on weekends, it should be possible to get something organized, If we set the time at a noon-1pm Eastern start, then it is early evening in europe. As long as people can manage to set aside 2-3 hours on saturday/sunday then I'm sure several turns could be played over the weekends.

But you're right, there will most assuridly be some scheduling problems. but using the afternoon/evening type schedule much of the fuss can be avoided.

If no one can find or manage the weekend-game idea, then we can always revert to regular PBW but that would defeat the purpose.

Anyway, it's just an idea at this stage, there still needs more interest before it gets off the ground.

Cheers!

I think it sounds workable, David. I've played with a lot of players from around the world and lots of them seem to be able to get many turns in during the afternoon.

If I start at ONE (EST), say, it allows people from various places in Europe, on weekends, to play till midnight fairly easily which allows the EST zone to play for 4-5 hours. And that doesn't even take into consideration the countries north and south of the US, for example, who only vary an hour or two.
