Image Editing
I hope this is the right thread. I have a question about modding, but it's pretty basic so the regular modding thread didn't seem like the right place for it. I've been playing SE4 off and on for about a year, and about a month ago I started gathering images for a mod I want to do. Now, even I know the experienced modders usually paint their own shipsets, but I don't have an artistic bone in my body so I'm gathering my images from the Web. I'm begining to have enough but they're all kinds of irregular sizes. My Windows XP can turn the jpg and gif files into bmps but it can't change sizes or cut images up. So my really basic question is:
Whats a good image editing program I can use to shape them into the standard 128 by 128 format that SE4 uses? Preferably one available in a (free)trial format, if you know of one...
Thanks, Eradan

Re: Image Editing
MSPaint will do for simple cropping and cut&paste work.
For rebalancing levels, stretching, rotating, etc you will need something fancier.

Re: Image Editing
Windows XP has several photo-editing packages in the mix (at least the Version on my HP desktop does) that are good complements to working in Paint. Try right-clicking on an image file, go to "Open with..." and see what software packages show up.
EDIT - BTW, you don't want that toast. Trust me...

Photo Editor will perform those tasks.
