Yet another newbie question
How do you tell a planet to repeat orders? That is, if I wanted a planet to produce satellites, how would I tell it to automatically launch them so I don't have to keep going to that planet and launching them every turn and loosing defensive power or (for smaller colonies) production time?
Also, I heard there is a way to do mass facility upgrades. How does one do this?

Re: Yet another newbie question
I do not think you can repeat orders with a planet. You need something that can move so you can use the patrol button.
You can do mass facility upgrades by pushing the Upgrade button on your construction queue list window. It will add upgrades for every obsolete facility on every planet.

Err, what window and where is this upgrade button? I see an "upgrades" button in the construction que window for individual planets, but that's only for indivudal planets.

Re: Yet another newbie question
First you have to have at least one drone/satellite/mine in planets cargo. Then you can give orders to launch it to the planet. When you have done that the repeat order button lights up and you can click it. This is the way to do it in simultaneous game. I don't know how to do it in turn-based.
Upgrade facilities button is in construction queues window (F7) the second button from the bottom.

Re: Yet another newbie question
You can repeat the launch satellite order if you have satellites in your cargo area. With the planet highlighted, hit the launch satellite button. Then, hit the repeat orders button: it's the large red circular arrow. You can go the "eye" button to see the order string. After that, even if you don't have any satellites, the order will try to be followed. If you then construct satellites later, they will be launched in the next turn.
This will also work with mines. But, remember that you can't recover mines after they are launched.

Re: Yet another newbie question
as said here, the game setup has to be simultaneous. in turn based games this option isn't available, at least, i never see the repeat orders function light up
