Just created my first planet- how fun is THAT?

But of course, it is of the uncolonizable type.

So, if I take a a Tectonic Bomb with me, can I go destroy this planet and try again with the Matter Gravity Sphere to give me another planet type? Or will the same type be created there?

No, it's a good idea. Sometimes though you end up blowing up a planet half a dozen times before you get a colonizable one.
