Personality group question
Where is the meaning of the "personality group" number found in the AI_Settings.txt file defined? Do these values correlate to the Demeanors.txt file?

Re: Personality group question
No. If you setup a random game, the AI will pick one from each of the personality Groups.

Re: Personality group question
I get it. So if you go through the effort of rooting through all the personality Groups used by the races and listing them out, you can decide the following for your personality group number:
A) You can pick one that is heavily used by other races, which will guarantee that your race will not be seen much in random games.
B) You can pick one that is used infrequently by other races, which will mean more play time for your race.
C) You can pick one that is not used, which will mean that your race will bee seen in most games that use random race selection.
And finally, you can ensure your race does not play against other races by making sure your personality group is the same as that other race.

quote: I get it.
No, you've misinterpreted what they do.
The personality Groups only run from 0 to 4. Here's something dumbluck posted in a previous thread about this: quote: From settings.txt:
Random Player Personality Groups := 4
Random Player Personality Group 1 Percent := 30
Random Player Personality Group 2 Percent := 30
Random Player Personality Group 3 Percent := 30
Random Player Personality Group 4 Percent := 10
I take this to mean that of the total # of random AIs, 30% will be from Personality Group 1, 30% will be from Personality Group 2, 30% will be from Personality Group 3, and 10% will be from Personality Group 4.
Here are the group lists for the standard races:
Group 0: the six neutrals
Group 1: Cue Kappa, Eee, Phong, Praetorian, Toltayan, Ukra-Tal
Group 2: Cryslonite, Fazrah, Jraenar, Krill, Piundon, Xi-Chung
Group 3: Abbidon, Druschocka, Norak, Sallega, Terran, Xiati
Group 4: Amon'Krie, Sergetti

Re: Personality group question
Huh, i was hoping that this decides what race will like to befriend with other... like 2 like 2, 3 like 3 and etc. Could have been cool if it was like that.
