The latest patch has caused some odd thing to occur, most notibly is the mouse freeze problem I am having. My mouse never froze before, but now it is. I did a complete uninstall reinstall of the game and then patched to new Version. Then modified my files as normal. From the start the game has had "new" issues. Listed below.

BUGs

1. Mouse will freeze at random points within the game. (All drivers are up to date)
2. Game freezes without warning and remains frozen. Alt-Ctl-Del to excape.
3. Dual install- Game 1 will access game 2's save games even though games are installed in seperate directories that have nothing to do with each other.
(Dual install: On under normal path, c/prog/shrap/mal, one under GAME directory c/games/shrap/mal. Normal is modified game, and Game directory is for PBW.)

I do not get RCE's that often, and wonder if it is the game or my PC. It would not surprise me if it was my PC, after all, it is an AMD.

Enclosed is the savegame file, Comonents File, and TechArea File that I use.. REMEMBER, I play with Trek modded Components.

What are the details of your system? Motherboard, CPU, OS, type of mouse, etc? Send all the particulars in to MM. I've got Win98 running on an Asus A7V133 with an AMD Duron and I've never had any mouse freezes. In fact, I've got nearly the opposite problem because I often have trouble clicking on what I want to click on... I think that's got something to do with MM's interface design.

This probably totally unrelated to your problems - but I had similar experience then I noticed I had the option CD music on - switched on (and I didnt turn it on) when I turned it off my lock ups and slow movement of ships etc.. went away.

AJC, your a genius! The game locked up when I opened my CDRom tray. Additionally, it was repeatedly indexing the CDRom looking for music, which, caused the mouse to lag. Disabling the CD music has improved the mouse performance 10 fold. I now seldom see a hang up.
