Default vampires life drain (Sanguinia mod nation) under water bless?

I have a question, maybe someone knows..
I'm trying vampires life drain (Sanguinia mod nation) under water bless.
Vampire has "rapire, life drain" written as a weapon.
Is it a life draining rapire, or life drain is a spell he casts after hitting rapire? I think that it's two separated weapons, just not sure.
What happens with it in case of water blessing?
If it's not using "life drain" because it's treated as a spell (though there could be a difference in game mechanics, as casting a spell and using a spell as weapon (Rleh), who can be given orders "fire" to use his native spell).

The next part of question is not related to vampires, mostly to forgable life draining weapon.
How would work water blessed unit with life draining weapon? Would it lifedrain both hits or only first?

It is written "rapier, life drain", thus they have two completely separate weapons. One which is a rapier, and one which was life drain. The first one only does damage, but the second one drains life, because it is life drain. It is also not to be mistaken with the first one, which is a rapier and does not drain life. I cannot think of a single item in the game, even in a mod, that has a comma separating part of the name of a single item from another part of itself. It works just the same way armor is listed, so I'm not sure why that was confusing to you.

Anyway, back to the subject. The drain life is not a spell. It is a weapon. It does not cost fatigue to use or anything, instead actually it drains fatigue (and life!) back into the vampire equipped with said drain life attack. It acts just like any other weapon. When used with a water bless, it operates in the same exact way as any other weapon in the game. I.E., it attacks twice every other round under ideal conditions. The order of attacks would thus be:

Turn 1): Rapier, Drain Life, Rapier, Drain Life.
Turn 2): Rapier, Drain Life.
Turn 3): Rapier, Drain Life, Rapier, Drain Life.
Turn 4): (back to turn 2)

For the record, R'lyeh's mindblast weapon on recruitables is a weapon, not a spell! It is just an ordinary ranged weapon designed to behave exactly like a spell. It does not cause spellcasting fatigue or any such thing due to its unusual status as a Spell-like Ability That Is Not A Spell(tm).

A forged lifedrain weapon would behave in the exact same way as any normal weapon, except that it's one that can suck life and fatigue out of your enemies. It would drain both hits!!!

Thank you, rdnoj.
Your description describes exactly my expectations. Th eonly reason why I started to think how this life drain is connected to this rapier, is the fact that when you forge a 1h sword for this vampire, and equip him with it, lifedrain also disappears. And if it was showing that when he had rapier, he had two attacks (when you click on "attack skill N" line), when you replaice rapier with any other 1h weapon, it shows only one attack. And no lifedrain attack in list of equipment, as I mentioned.
And this is not clear for me. I though - I wil replaice rapier with something more useful and will have this lifedrain.

Militarist, there are some known bugs in Dom3 still. One of those is losing certain weapon slots when you equip a commander with several inherent weapons with new items.

I don't know the mod you are talking about so I don't know if your specific case matches the general case, where a commander with a mix of melee or ranged [or just plain weird] weapons loses his inherent non-melee weapons when an 1H weapon is equipped in the first hand slot and regains it when a shield is added to the second hand slot - but does not regain it if done the other way around) but it might be worth trying out.

If you have not done so already, I would advise you to read the bug shortlist one of these days. There are some really weird stuff in there, which hasn't been fixed yet (and possibly never will).

He won't regain life drain no matter what, since iirc it is not a #bonus attack.

Unsurprisingly, sombre is correct. This is of course very frustrating as sanguinian vampires with, say, lead shields would be completely awesome. But aren't quite as awesome without the lifedrain. So it's a bit of a mixed bag.

By the way... try making sabbaths using the counts to buff reeves with stone/ironskin or invulnerability. You can add soul vortex with summoned vampires also

If you haven't already, try equipping the weapon in the other of the two weapon slots. Sometimes that makes a difference (e.g. you might be able to lose the inherent "rapier" weapon instead of the "life drain" weapon, or at least not lose both.)

You'd have to try it to know, though.

I did some tests.

If I put shield into slot one, I have rapier+ shield, as result.
When I put shield into slot two, I have the same rapier+ shield, as result.

I was dreaming to see shield+life drain without rapire, but there is no such choice.

If I put start of heroes, into slot one, or into slot 2, no difference, I'm loosing both - rapier and life drain. So life drain without rapier doesn't exist. It is also impossible to have rapier+another weapon, you just will have 1 weapon, not rapier.

So, mechanic is still unclear for me and not very intuitively obvious.

It would be cool if it was fixed by modding if it's possible.

It's just to do with which is declared first in the units weapon allocation. But it isn't getting 'fixed' because it's standard behaviour in dom3.

Does that mean it could be "fixed" in the mod? If the intent was to let the vampire keep his lifedrain anyway.
