Map Editor Question

I've tried a forum search but probably haven't figured out the right terms to search on so no luck.
So I'll just ask what's probably been asked a dozen times before.

On an existing map, is there any way to change the base ground texture on the entire map (specifically from grass to bare earth) without losing all the buildings and roads?

Dunno, if there is such a feature, would be very useful for changing seasons, so I'm all ears as well

Not that I know of, as far as I know you have to set it & then repaint using follow contours. Savanna is a nice change from the green & easy on the eye in my view.
