Star Trek Supremacy 4x BOTF 2
Just in case you hadn't gotten the news, BOTF2, Supremacy, has a playable demo out. http://www.startreksupremacy.com/
It is rather good. Download it and start playing.

Woot!
I still play the original game. This is great news.

I can overlook that. The game itself seems to be much more in depth than BOTF 1. The intelligence system got a complete overhaul. Nice that you have to actually worry about having enough commanding officers now.

Well considered that the game is completely freeware and only one guy working on it I'd have to say, damn fine job, please keep up the good work.
I would like to see major UI improvements though. The right lick menu if fine but why not have buttons to click in the main UI screen? I would like to be able to design ships like we can in SE IV and V.

I don't think that will happen, because at least most of the hardware seems to be ripped from the Star Trek Universe.
So your saying that we will never have to pay for this?
I got the impression that this was fairly early test version, and when complete you'll have to buy the game.
I played the Fed's for 150 turns.
A) Ran into no other major races.
B) No ship combat at all.
C) The minor races seemed generic as far as thier disposition.
D) No terraforming.
Good to know its in progress though.

I couldn't see anything about it being licensed, so the author wouldn't be able to sell it - that's for sure. Even distributing a game based on a copyrighted/trademarked franchise could be considered dubious. :P

Looks like I was wrong. I guess I just figured something with that much effort into it would be official.
So you think it will be able to continue, as long as it's free?
I certainly hope so,I like what the programmer has done with it so far, look forward to updates.

Thanks for the post M_o_E.
I don't have a problem with the UI. I'm thrilled to see the game in production.
I understand the game is young. I was just making some quick observations about the current version.

Re: Star Trek Supremacy 4x BOTF 2
Hello,
Please don't think that I am criticizing your work. I love it. I just made a point that I kept hitting the buttons at the top before I realized that I had a right click menu. Its really just a preference thing. NOTHING BAD. Love what you have done so far.
