MA R\'lyeh Astral
OK. I have so far followed Evilhomer's guide in building up an MA R'lyeh nation. I've done well in both the MP game I am playing in, and the test SP game I am testing with. I have reached the endgame in the SP game, and... I can't make an S9 mage to cast Wish.
I finally have an S8 Starspawn, but I can't get him up any higher without empowering. And despite all my astral searching, my astral income is awful (like 5), so getting him up to 9 will take a long time.
Maybe I should have forgone the E4, Dom10 Wyrm and gone with a Pretender with S9?

Re: MA R\'lyeh Astral
It's probably a bit late, but making a bunch of clams earlier would have helped with your astral pearl situation. At Const-4 a W3 Starspawn can make a robe of the sea, then you can have a W2N1 slave mage making clams.

Re: MA R\'lyeh Astral
Can you summon Naiads, for the Nature/Water mages? I think the most common way to get lots of Astral, ESPECIALLY if you have easy access to Water (i.e. you are under water) and Nature (i.e. the Nat 0 underwater Kelp sites), is to make Clams. You know, Water/Nature items that generate astral pearls.
Also, in single-player you can except to keep globals such as Stellar Focus up for long enough for them to pay back the amount of gems you put in them.

Re: MA R\'lyeh Astral
You should have gotten dimensional rod.
But if that is not an option just empower. Wish will give great returns.

Re: MA R\'lyeh Astral
Of course, if you don't have a good Astral income then a Wish caster isn't going to do that many castings.

Re: MA R\'lyeh Astral
Yes, my clam economy in the SP game was awful. I should have made a lot more, and earlier. I'll try not to make the same mistake in the MP game.
