Default Is a Fair # of Neighbors mod possible?

I rarely use mods, but there is one issue I'd love to get modded out.

-Some home provinces get three neighbors in random maps, and some get seven. Is there a way to correct this through a mod?

For a nation with resource heavy capital-only troops, having a large number of neighbors can mean the difference between having a lot of great troops for your empire, or just having a few.

I know I can just use established maps, with set home provinces, but this is less fun for me.

Unfortunately, no it isn't.

I have a set of scripts that automatically balance the start locations on a random map file (they're in the mod forum somewhere), but you need unix-fu in order to use them.

If you are like me a keep restarting games until you get 5 or 6 neighbors an alternative is to map edit your starting location. It is much quicker than restarting 5 or 6 times until you like your starting province.

It is a simple command:
#specstart <nation no.> <province no.>

You can simply insert it at the top of the MAP file using notepad if you don't have a text editor.

One wish list item might be to adjust the system so that it doesn't matter how many neighbors you have. So for example, with 6 neighbors, it would work the same as now. With 5, you would steal 6/5 as much from each. With 2, 6/2 or 3 times as much. With 9, 6/9ths. Only up to the amount of resources available, of course. That way, the number of neighbors wouldn't matter. Plus, it doesn't really make sense to me that the people are able to ship more resources because there are more provinces, so I think this would be better in game terms and story terms.

But I know it probably can't happen. Just a dream.
