Default T90s

hmm I think I had posted some stuff on light trucks.. but cant seem to find my post. any ways

Between India and Pakistan Orbats I couldnt help notice that the Al-khaid tank (which chinese tank copy is it?) has better penetration capabilities than the t90s. In a small test battle I found that the t90 struggled to penetrate the khalid which delt with the t90s with ease.

I couldnt help look up reviews of T90 on the web and have few questions regarding the one modeled here.
- The in game gun is labelled - 125mm d81 98, while all website report the gun to be - 125mm 2A46M smoothbore
are these guns essentialy the same?

The armor value against KE is reported to be 850mm if it can be trsuted (googled for it) and 1450 against heat for T90s. Do the numbers in the game represent protection in mm. So is the T90s front armor rating of 72 equivalent of 720mm?

I am trying to understand this discrepancy.

btw: I dont think India has a light bmp tank with vis 40. I understand that the orbat may have been put together some time back, but just pointers for folks to keep in mind for future upgrades? (I read the latest patch is going to include significant orbat updates, so just mentioning here)

A site I found on Indian armed forces - wwww.bharat-rakshak.com

Essentially, yes. There are various naming conventions for the 125mm guns used in the game. The date "98" (or 76 or 70) is basically used to give a clue about the ammunition employed by the gun."98" should mean that it uses a round introduced in 1998. Or at least that is what I have understood.

"which chinese tank copy is it?"

Type 96 (although others designations may have been used), with an engine made in Ukraine and maybe something else.

After a quick reasearch it would appear that such vehicle was indeed developed and at least one prototype was put together, although in the end the program was cancelled.

Anyone here knows which 125mm sabot rounds the Indian forces use? That could be helpful in figuring out what they'd be worth against Khalids.
Recent Chinese rounds come with awesome stats (probably puffed up out of proportion somewhere along the way ), so if you trust what you find on the 'net, you'll have trouble coming up with equivalent Russian rounds.
I bet the Indians bought some along their T-90s, but who knows? (actually, I have no idea if the Pakistanis ever purchased advanced Chinese rounds, but hey, let's dream)
