Default Boarding in Se5

Was reading the manual and was wondering if the manual was right. Bc boarding parties are now little shuttles i questioned if this is right, if the ship you are boarding has a self destruct the manual says it would take your ship out as well if the ship was successfully captured. Not sure if this was a se4 just copy and paste bc it made sense in there. But with the shuttle thing this makes zero sense. Havent tested this yet does anyone know if this is still true in se5

Actually tested myself and got very surprising results.
The defending ship had a self destruct device and my boarding ship captured it. So apparently the self destruct didnt go off after it was captured period and neither ship was destroyed.
I'd say self destruct is broken or not completely working. Neither ship had weapons so component was damaged

I will test it myself, but it may be a % chance to catch the ship unawares when boarding. How many times did you run the simulation?

Could the SD have been damaged prior to boarding?

ran it 3 times seemed to be same results. The self destruct i believe is tied to the button in the simulation key pad and may as of now be the only way to destroy a ship. Doesnt seem like if it is a problem would be hard to fix. But as of now self destruct seems useless for most practical uses

There was also a problem in the demo (or a feature, depending upon how you view it) that I mentioned in other threads. Essentially all the ships with boarding parties sent all their shuttles after a single ship. Furthermore, despite 30:1 ship odds, the target ship was never captured. However a single boarding ship with say three capturing components was almost always successful (thus 3:1 odds worked, as often did 2:1 odds).

Anybody with the official release know if any of this was "fixed" so that either
(1) the shuttles from multiple ships all swarming around the target ship can coordinate to "inject" their marines simultaneously

OR

(2) your entire fleet of capture ships won't all target the same ship.

cheers

Seems pretty similiar. I actually held two ships back in the simulator and they wouldnt even attempt to board other ships after one taken. And they all still fired at the same ship. It appeared that the other shuttles wouldnt attempt a boarding until the battle on the ship was over then the shuttles just fizzled.
