tdm-modpack bug
I have recently reinstaled SE IV and I have downloaded the tdm-modpack for better ai. But after a while playing the game used huge ammounts of processing to save/load each game when I checked the save game folder that savegame was 850mb(!) and about 10000 files large......
any suggestions to fix this problem?

This problem occurs from time to time although I think the cause has never been nail downed. You can delete all the files though. Can't recall exactly how you get it to stop.

Re: tdm-modpack bug
It's not a mod related bug. Do you have auto-save turned on?

Re: tdm-modpack bug
I've had this exact bug happen to me once in all my years of playing SEIV. As far as I know, all you can do is delete all the files and hope that it stops...

Re: tdm-modpack bug
Hmm. Tried installing the mod (twice) - I've got the Matryx SE IV launcher, but it doesn't seem to have actually put the mod anywhere. ( IE : Seems it's _supposed_ to put itself, all the race files, etc, in a "TDM-ModPack" folder inside the "Space Empires IV Deluxe" directory. But there isn't any such folder, and running a search for any files with filename containing "cylons" (one of the races, right?) doesn't show anything, anywhere. )
Anyone have any idea what went wrong? Since it uses an installer instead of simply being a zip file containing the files, I can't tell what it's doing.
Edit : Blah - apparently Cylons isn't one of the races (though I saw it mentioned on his web site), and it didn't know how to put itself in properly for SEIV Deluxe's directory structure. Weird.

Re: tdm-modpack bug
The Cylons are part of the TDM-Modpack, just not on the CD for copyright reasons. You have to download the latest TDM at http://tdm.otaku42.de/ . If the installer cannot find the file se4.exe in the installation folder it searches for in registry, it will give you the option to install TDM anyway into a folder of your choice.
