Default Fair Remote Mining against AI

I always tinker a lot with SEIV and the mods created for it and one of the things that i always found lacking was the inability of the AI to use Remote Mining... and what most agrieve me is that the Remote Miming part is (at least for me) a fun part of the strategy.... BTW: i always set Remote Mining to not decrease the mineral concentrations...

So, to try addressing the inability of the AI to use Remote Miming i achieved 2 possible strategies, one simple and one complex:

The simple strategy, that i sue in several mods since it dont need any changing in the AI files, is to increase the cost (and therefore the maitenance) of the remote mining components, so the player dont have a overwhelming advantage against the AI when using Remote Mining, a good value i found was to set remote mining componentes to 3 to 5 times the stock price, so the Remote Mining would be a costly process that would be only worth in high concentration asteroids/planets...

The complex strategy would be to create AI-Only mining components that use the Generate Points ability implanted in the last patch, editind the AI Files so they would build some number of ships/bases that used these components (AI tags would be useful here) in a class of ship that the AI dont use to attack or dont use at all... In this way the player would need to build Remote Mining ships to keep up with the AI "remote mining", but the AI remote mining would be independent of resource concentrations or even of the availability os a place to mine...

Obviously the "complex" method would be a more time-intensive modification, as you ould need to edit every AI to use the new "remote mining ships"...

Just some ideas i wanted to share...

Definitely good ideas! Unfortunately, I don't have the chance to use the ideas, but I'm sure someone will.

Download the Nosral Confederacy (a shipset based upon the Phong) and the Tyrellian Imperium, an organic looking shipset I created! (The Nosral are the better of the two )

Why do you need AI tags? You can just use the generate points abilities themselves.

You are right, i forgot that you can ask for the abilities themselves....

To add to this idea, i was thinking that, instead of a "dedicated" remote mining ship/base for the AI to use with these components, we could create mining components that dont use any tonnage, can have only one per ship, and rewrite the Ai to use it in all its ships... the drawback would be that AI ships would get pricier and stunt their development a little...

Im still developing ideas, and would like to hear any ideas as how to balance remote mining without taking it from the game...
