Default Commanders not being hindered by Wastes etc.?

While doing some MOD testing on the Karan map, I have noticed a few commanders passing through wastelands similar territories without the proper "survival" and without being hindered.

Example: An Indy scout moving from 29 through 23 to 35 without a problem; there is only one province through which he can move, and that is 23, a wasteland. Similar with from 10 to 29.

Is this me not understanding something?
Is this a map buglet?
Is this a terrain buglet?
Is this a movement buglet?

Thank you.

Wasteland doesn't hinder movement.

Yikes, I can't imagine I have been playing this game with this intensity for this amount of time and havent noticed that wastes... don't ... inhibit ... movement.... Christ!

So wasteland survival "only" yields a greater chance of not starving when supplies get scarce in wastelands?

(And does anybody know how THAT aspect of terrain survival works??)

I asked that question months ago and got an answer but I don't remember the details for sure. I'm sure it's still on the forum. My memory is that they still eat, but they themselves won't starve... or that if they get pegged for starvation, the random wheel of starvation gets spun again, and that time will stop if it hits someone with survival again. I'm guessing with flawed memory though.

Are you thinking of this thread PvK?

Kristoffer there says that terrain survival gives a 50% chance of avoiding the starvation. My own experiments resulted in survivalist troops still starving, so they are definitively not immune to starvation.

Hm -- 50% chance sounds good.
If this can be confirmed, I think Liga should add it to his Addenda as well.

Yes, that's the thread, and that makes sense then - normal distribution of "starve hits", but 50% chance of survivalists ignoring the result.
