A problem with Natarajans and their hands?
After finally getting a wraith sword for my Natarajan I discovered what appears to be an odd bug. The poor old guy lost an arm in a previous battle (no big deal, I'm Arco). When I equip him with the wraith sword his weapon shows up as "fist" down at the bottom of this description. If I give him a wraith sword and a main gauche of parrying, he shows up as having "fist" and "main gauche of parrying". I can give him three one-handed weapons just fine (they all show up), and I have no other two-handed weapon to test.
This is a MP game, otherwise I would test myself to see whether this is a display bug or whether he really can't use this wraith sword until healed. Has anyone else run into this problem before? There aren't many multi-handed creatures, so perhaps it is rare to encounter this.
Thanks.

I wouldn't know the answer to your question, but I can always hand you the fatherland file if the game in question is Yarnspinners, so you would be able to check what your Nataraja is up to.
If it is not Yarnspinners, feel free to forget everything about this post (I do not know if you have a Nataraja in this game, so).

Re: A problem with Natarajans and their hands?
Just a guess, but maybe the wraith sword is in the wrong hand. The natajara has two hands on each side. Perhaps one or two of the slots does not work because the missing hand in the wrong place to handle a two-handed weapon. Try moving it around to see. If all three slots don't work, then it is either a feature or a bug.

I don't think there are any right/left hands in the game.

But don't they come in pairs anyways? So you have 2 hands that are one package and then when adding 2 more hands you add another package.

Re: A problem with Natarajans and their hands?
Thanks to Alneyan, I was able to run some tests:
1) It isn't just a display bug. When equipped, the wraith sword shows up as a "fist" in the description and acts like one in battle (or, specificially, it doesn't act as a wraith sword, neither replenishing hit poits nor fatigure).
2) Other-two handed weapons also don't work (I tried a crossbow).
3) I attempted Panther's suggestion, but was only able to equip the wraith sword in two of the three possible slots (by either equipping it before or after another, one-handed weapon). Thus, it is still possible that some "off-hand" cause is at work here, although clearly Kristoffer thinks this is not the explanation.
4) Healing the natarajan restored the ability to use the wraith sword (along with a second two-handed weapon), so my guess is that this is a universal feature of the natarajan, and not related to a corrupt file.

Re: A problem with Natarajans and their hands?
I've never had four arms myself, but I can imagine that having one of them crippled, might make it impractical for me to wield a two-handed weapon.
