quick question : maximum number of size x battle troops
just curious :
iirc there was a thread some time ago were norfleet said that if you take more than 6000 size 1 units , 3000 size 2 units etc. to a battle the game gets corrupted and you can't continue .
so far i remember furthermore this answer from norfleet was the Last answer in that thread and neither confirmed nor declined .
so is that true ?
because i want to start a new sp game now on faerun where i plan to play ryleh . i think i will try a lategame 3000-4000 devil army there then or something similiar .
this would definitely be more then the 6000 size 1 units maximum norfleet mentioned .
i would be really pissed if this would happen to my game then . so plz say if that is correct and state the maximum number of troops in size i may take to battle .

Re: quick question : maximum number of size x battle troops
IIRC, the battlefield grid is about 58x28. This would suggest that Bad Things Happen if more units attend than can fit. There are rumors that the battlefield may "stretch", if such a thing occurs, but given that the unit positioning box isn't stretchy in such a manner, I'm not sure how that would work....and there's still a point at which this would break down gruesomely.

hm you can zoom out when watching battle replays quite far .
my biggest fun battle so far were 1500 vampires + 500 demon knights + some sc's .
this was in a fungame with a good friend who has dominions 2 too but unfortunately doesn't feel good enough already to start a game offered here on the Boards too .
he had about 2000 units against that too .
there the 50 turn limit was evil
i think this was pretty close already but nothing bad happened there

Re: quick question : maximum number of size x battle troops
The battlegrid expands to accomodate larger armies. How much and what limit I don't know.

Re: quick question : maximum number of size x battle troops
Actually I ran into this problem playing Ermor in SP a while ago, but it was not under 2.12 and I was told by Illwinter that a future patch (probably 2.10 or somthing) would fix it. This was a while ago. But havent tested since.
