Very slow loading on XP

Ive got my loading times in one of my games increased from instant to 1 minute. And it seems that game kinda freeze for that period. Ive tryed new game but in begining of new game loading is instant but in 20-30 turns it suddenly increase to 1 minute or more... Is that normal? It seems tha when loading it read HD and processor is loaded 100% (i have athlon 2600+)

I think that is normal. I truned off animated movement entirely on mine when playing.

Check for foreign CDs (i.e. Non-SE:IV) in your CD drive.

Animation is off too... I just looked into my save folder...my savegame (that one i load) contains 1200 files. Isnt that kinda weird? Maybe autosave is bugged? for example another save contain 22 file

That's not too strange. Autosave will go up to 10 Versions and if you have player stats active then you get .txt files for each player for each save so that can add up very quickly. There are only 3 important files really to the savegame.

You turn off the logs in the settings.txt about 3/4s of the way down.

Slow load ups on the intro screen are usually due to another CD in the drive when CD music for the game is turned on. If it's a data CD then the game starts going putt-putt looking for the music tracks...

And i found another folder - history. It has around 9000 files too. So can you please explain how to make normal autosave each turn with minimum files created?

I checked settings.txt ant logs were false...but nov i just made another turn and got another autosave for 1200 files and 1200 history files...its insane stupid saving system.
