Default Homeworld created in empty sector

I'm doing some modding and, when i try to generete a map in my mod, it creates my homeworld in an empty sector, so, when i start the game it sais that i lost the game and the following turn will be my Last turn.... i looked everywhere and can't find the reason for this...

In my mod i basicly changed the planets/atmospheres created, where i changed the file secttypes.txt in the following manner:

All huge planets are Gas Giant/Hydrogen
Large Planets are Gas Giant/Hydrogen or Ice/None
Medium Planets are Ice/None/Oxygen or Rock/None/Methane/Oxygen/Carbon Dioxide
Small Planets are Ice/None/Oxygen or Rock/None/Methane/Oxygen/Carbon Dioxide
Tiny planets are Ice/None or Rock/None

I excluded some entries in secttype.txt of planets that the pictures don't matched with the new type/atmospheres and duplicated some entryes to assure a balanced generaion of planets for all possible type/atmospheres.

I also created a race that have a possible planet generated (Rock/Methane)...

Anyone have an idea what i'm doing wrong?

thanks

SectType.txt
this file shows you what objects you can have

systemtypes.txt

this file shows you what objects are in what system.

QuadrantTypes.txt

This file shows you what systems will be generated on your map.

If you are getting blank systems... Verify that the system type has objects in it for what you wish to develop and then check the quadranttype to see if those systems will be generated.

This could be your problem...

Easisest way to trace this would be for you to verify that the objects exist in the secttype.txt
Then open up systemtypes.txt and verify that the system has those objects. Then open up QuadrantTypes.txt and verify that those systems are in the quadrant type.

Hope this helps

If you start with Rock/Methane and a good planet, the good planet would be large and you have no large Rock/Methane entry.

Hmmm....

Well, I have no idea what I'm talking about but here's a thought:

Could it be that the program is trying to assign you to a planet size for which your atmosphere type does not exist - like a large size planet, for example? You may wish to experiment with the "player settings" menu...choose "bad" value homeworld instead of good or average in hopes of recieving a smaller, appropriate atmosphere planet.

Edit: Oops...ol' gandalf beat me to it. hehe

Just a guess, I'd say your game setup is home planet value of good, which means the game is trying to create a home world for you that is a large methane rock world, which does not exsist in your mod. Either use average planet value, or change your race to gas giant/hydrogen or none/ice and it should work.

If you are not selecting home planet value good, I need more information. Would probably need to see the files.

EDIT: DANG! Fourth? I gotta type faster.

Really? Hmm...I thought that the empire placement stage would just override those sorts of issues when it ran into a problem. I've had games where random AI races were dropped into systems where they normally had no business being...apparently because the empire placement stage couldn't find anywhere else to put them. AI's showed up in "no-start-here" nebula systems and black holes...which gave the poor ol' AI nightmares...and somehow thrashed their ability to colonize anything. Maybe it was just some wierd mod i had unwittingly applied that opened the door for this destructive behavior...or a long since remedied bug...I haven't seen this happen in a long time.

Just curious...
