Re: Just Curious does anybody play multi-play?
Personally, I am still at the playing-against-AI stage. Plus, I currently do not have that much more free time to commit to a MP game of SE4.
Believe or not, I got mine almost 2 months ago (when they 1st shipped the game), and I have not even gotten through 100 turns in a single game... I still have no idea of what kinds of tech I will be getting in the later stages.
And i don't want to "peek" at future techs by prolonging the game with AI. That IMO will spoil the fun.
I am hoping they will improve the AI to a level that can compete against human players until later stages.

Re: Just Curious does anybody play multi-play?
The reason I bought this game was so I could compete in development and military strategies with other people. That's where the fun is, proving others that you are a better player than someone else. heh And if I lose it's okay, I learn from my mistakes.
Winning a game against AI is not very exciting for me, I want real challange. Does anyone else here feel the same way? I would be interested in starting 1 on 1 games, preferably IP games but pbem would do too. 3 and more people is okay too but the more people you got, the less likely you are to finish the game.

Re: Just Curious does anybody play multi-play?
There are PBEM games starting this week. We have about 15 players, all of whom are interested in PBEM. Hit up http://www.eGroups.com/group/SE4-PBEM for more information. We have one game starting wednesday and another later in the week. More players are a good thing!

Re: Just Curious does anybody play multi-play?
MM has sent me a email. they said they will have TCP IP soon into the year...
once that occurs...small/med games.with 4 or less players will be viable..and doable..lots of time but worth it
ive got friend who will play long term like i do, once tcp ip comes Online. NO PBEM...that is not interesting. half the fun is fighting out with the ships in tactical. well once tCP IP gets up and running in some future patch..kind of limited
but your right..playing people and using game as interface between humans is the way to go..and MM said they will do that shortly
look for me when they do..i like long drawn out Multiplayer games...3-4 players will work

I'm another you can add to the list for when the TCPIP patch comes out. I don't mind spending hours playing when its a challenge...
