You need to save to a blank named slot without entering your own string to get the default name convention. Or over a slot that is already using the default convention, of course.

Probably the only way to get a slot to use that convention (once you have given a non default name to it) is to remove any unused/unwanted save game slots from the save game folder (via windows).

I must admit that for most games I own, I do tend to go through and remove unwanted or obsolete save games from time to time. It can save a quite a few megabytes of disk space!. (No game that I know of has a "delete" function for its savegames, so it has to be done manually outside the game).

edit - and the filename in SP is held inside the .cmt data file. So simply deleting that while your game is loaded and then re-saving to the now "blank" slot may work (have not tried it).
