Press the 'A' key, and then move a unit and all the other units of the platoon will then do a joint AI-controlled move.

More useful if out of contact though.

Game Guide - "Main Map Window" link - "Hot keys" box - "A" refers.

In the game - press the "?" key or the button with the red "?" symbol, select game help button - there is an on line set of game hot keys there - again "A" refers.
