Re: Sniping

Just to add on. The AT Rifles are pretty useful to quickly button an armoured vehicle. May just be their higher accuracy, but it usually buttons the target faster than MGs.

They are also usually...

Re: Recon with vehicles

If you play on maximum map size, they'll be useful to cover gaps in the line, or screen flanks.

Usually in a meeting engagement, the fast units, hence scout cars, are out skirmishing first. If you...

Re: What's the order of rallying?

Not sure how the rolls actually work but as a rule of thumb that I play, if the suppression value is higher than the rally score of the leader, the rally attempt tends to fail.

So it also means we...

Re: What's the order of rallying?

I assume autorally is for end of turn- beginning of turn rallies.

The order of rallies is correct. It's the Platoon Leader first, then Company Leader, then Section Leader.

So it's always impt...

Re: favorite scout units

Any unit that is smaller than size 1. Best if it has radio and can therefore help adjust for fires.

Has short ranged weapon, keep to contact range not more than 1 so they don't accidentally give...

Re: couple questions

If the suppression is not more than 2-6, and its not causing it to be pinned or buttoned. It's not much of a bother. It only bothers if you're playing USSR and their morale is really low in early war.

Re: couple questions

1. There's no Surrender Battle button. So the only way to proceed to the end of the battle is to finish the turns.

2. Sounds like out of contact with command element and likely more than 70% of...

Re: How to assault an enemy unit?

I think the basics are easier to learn and master from WW2 since the weapons are not as accurate or as devastating usually.

If you are trying to move towards an enemy, never try to do it...

Re: German LC

Turn 3

Once the curtain lifted, there was a concentrated barrage of heavy artillery crashing around 3rd Coy's advance positions.

Here our Pz38ts manuevre to take on the fast running EN recon...

1st Coy Sector

I attached 1 of my HMG Platoons with 1st Coy and they are mostly dispersed, with the Coy Commander and a reinforced platoon in the forest. The primary mission is to guard the flank,...

Defend Against Russians in Nov '42

Visibility is very good at 60, and 70 Turns.

Ground conditions are snowy, so movement outside of roads will be very slow. Nonetheless, we have some excellent...

Re: German LC

End of Battle at Turn 33

The EN brought more arty than expected and gave me additional 200+ points from overload. Correspondingly, they had lesser armour units compared to an earlier battle of 40+...

Elsewhere in 3rd Coy sector

Turn 22

There was a very sizeable EN infantry force moving towards 3rd coy sector. I estimate at least 1-2 companies worth. The EN advance is very well supported by...

Re: German LC

Turn 15

The trailing EN units headed off into 3rd Coy sector. We're not sure at this point, whether they will move further north into 1st Coy sector or will make a blind push through the forest....

Turn 10

Still very much in the same sector, the PzJgrs and ATGs from the other companies are coming on hand to support 2nd Coy.

The EN armoured cars (Yellow pentagons) have all fallen silent to...

Re: German LC

Right after the curtain rises, there was a sustained artillery strikes landing all over 2nd Coy's sector. My advance units, especially the portees had to pull out of the strike zone.

Turn 3

Deployment at Arty Park

Fairly standard. I'll position such that both mortar platoons can share the munitions dump.

The 3.7cm AA guns will provide defensive firepower.

New battle October of 1941

Delay somewhere near Vyazma.

Visibility is 60 and a total of 45 turns. Map is same as before, 80x120. AI is not tank heavy but with Russians, that still means a...

This shows the position taken by J0 platoon and K0 AT Rifle section.

I've also repositioned the PzJgr and Pz IIIs to overlook the open area, if the EN tanks choose not to go through the...

Turn 13

The main reason why I started withdrawing my Pz IIIs was that the EN was flowing north of the road and heading towards 1st Coy sector, and that the Pz IIIs were also...

Turn 13

The 2nd wave in 3rd Coy sector. The EN cavalry is lagging further and further away from their armour. The EN armour, I think these are T-26, are coming along unsupported.

Re: German LC

Turn 13

Some 3 turns later, my AT Rifle section has been badly mauled but together they also destroyed 3x T-60s. It's a good trade in a sense, 1 AT Rifle team is worth 9-10 pts, while a T-60 is...
