I often wondered that too, from my experience a 1,000% Arty Effectiveness makes it too easy to kill enemy units, even with suppressive fire, so I believe Z-fire is indeed connected with Arty...

Changing Player Preferences During Game

If you can change the settings during the game, it seems like it would be too tempting for some to cheat. I can see the logic in changing them before any units are purchased or just to look at them...

I think the small blades makes the helicopter look "toyish", like a Godzilla movie. The spinning effect looks fine though, pretty outstanding. I think I could get used to it.
