PBW is indeed back up and running, but so far nothing else is.

Also, apparently the bulk of everything posted in the past year or so there (from April 2014) is gone. Games, accounts, posted mods...

I was part of an attempt to do a "New SE4" too, but despite some good cooperation, great artwork, and some sound and clever ideas it buckled from the lack of a programmer. We had a really good one...

I absolutely agree with these two statements as to the core cause of Space Empires decline.

Firstly, SE5 was just TOO different from the previous incarnations, and had too many issues combined...

The one common factor we all had in starting this was to create a better, less restricted, more moddable game in the vein of SE4, with a similar theme and feel, but with an updated scheme. SE5 failed...
