Re: Artillery observer selection issue
Hmm, I don't think you're cancelling the selection of the BO unit when entering and exiting the HQ screen. The HQ screen itself has the BO unit already selected when entering and when exiting the HQ...

Started with a fresh scenario to find out how I got there (I actually spend a long time getting out of it when I first bumped into it!).
From a fresh scenario select B0, press H, exit screen,...

Voted to keep things as they are. I'd hate to see the Italian names disappear in particular. I can't imagine the game without Bersaglieri or Camicie Nere or Autoblinda's.
The old Hungarian names...

Re: Artillery Delay and Supression - One Post - Two Can's of Worms
A non command unit will look for a higher up first. A command unit will try to rally itself first. So the platoon commander will try to rally himself even if in range of the company HQ. That's why...

Re: Artillery Delay and Supression - One Post - Two Can's of Worms
Not quite, if you rally a non-command unit it's platoon leader will be the first to try and rally the unit. Only after the platoon leader fails will the unit use it's own rally attempt.
So start...

For modern games I'd rarely play on anything but a very large map (max size or at least close to it) and with enough terrain features to break LOS considerably. It doesn't have to be close terrain...

Re: TI what is it good for?
NATO TI vs WP non TI can be a problem in games where the parameters (points and map size) are chosen to fit the (much more expensive) NATO force (which happens all the time). That means that if you...

Easy answer. Plenty of artillery, area fire and scouting (including by heavy choppers).
Don't make the mistake of firing arty AFTER you've made contact. Fire en masse at places you don't want them...

Bigger squads are relatively cheaper; ie they are more expensive in absolute terms but not if you look at cost per man. So that's a factor to take into account too.
