Long Time Player, First Time Poster
 

Hey Don and Andy, I know its been said many many times before but I feel like after you've been playing someone's game for nearly a 1/3 of your life you need to say a great big thank you to them!

I started with Steel Panthers 2, and shortly after that, Steel Panthers. I'm glad I'm not the only one that scratched their heads when SP3 came out ;) And I missed the boat on SP:WAW. So when I discovered that one of my favorite childhood games was still going strong, I was over the moon. I had to get in on this! Eventually I picked up a CD copy of MBT and WW2 a few years ago, and you know what? Out of all the games I play, modern and ancient, this is still the one series I can come back to on a daily basis and still get the feeling of "one more turn, I just gotta get one more turn out."

You guys took SSI's magic and made it your own. You really created something enduring and special, and even if you never made another patch or release from this point forward I'd probably keep playing it another 20 years. After all, at some point I have to finish that 200 battle mega campaign, right? :D

So true. My twenty-eight year-old son and I played SSI's deeply-flawed DOS-based Steel Panthers when he was a boy and currently get together every two weeks to play winSPMBT and will be playing winSPWW2 in a short while. Thank you Don and Andy!:)
