A Couple of Questions
1. Is there any limit to how far a unit will retreat in one turn? I had an infantry unit retreat 14 hexes in one turn. This includes 2 3-hex 'dances' so the total distance covered was 8 hexes. The terrain was clear and 3 woods hexes, there were no roads. If the unit were moving normally it would have taken 5 turns to cover that much ground.
2. How are victory levels determined? I just played a scenario where all the victory hexes were taken and the final point count was about 10:1 but the victory level was Marginal. |
Re: A Couple of Questions
1) If it gets hit and decides to retreat 1 hex 27 times, then it will. And then probably rout as far as it can. The probability is vanishingly small, but there is no charge for the forced pullback (which can occur without a casualty).
2) as far as I recall, a total victory is an 8:1 ratio. You probably miscounted? Andy |

Stangely enough, Information like this can be readily found in the game manual  [QUOTE} Battle Results Screen <SNIP> A greater-than 8:1 margin is a “Decisive” victory. Between 8:1 and 2:1 is a “Marginal” Victory and if your result was between 2:1 and 1:2, the result will be a draw. [/quote] IF YOU THINK YOUR RESULT WAS DIFFERENT THAN THIS THEN PROVIDE A SAVE GAME SO WE CAN ALL LOOK AT IT without one, any further discussion is pointless. Don |
