doms3 path on windows --> modscanner project
1 Attachment(s)
I'm working on a multi-platform desktop application that scans the Mods folder, and lists all the installed "add-on" (mod) spells, items, units, pretenders etc. I'm about 1/2 done, but it already looks like it will be a handy reference too and a complement for Edi's awesome database.
Right now I have a beta version (gamma? delta?) working on the Mac, but I need to know what the absolute path is to the standard install directory of Dominions3 on windows (where the mods folder is stored, not the app) so I can code that in for you Windoze people. Would somebody share that with me? Then it wouldn't matter where the modscanner application is located, it would just know where to look. Thx. |
Re: doms3 path on windows --> modscanner project
Mine is not the standard install directory on windows vista, but I use:
C:\Games\dominions3\maps C:\Games\dominions3\mods That is what I used on WinXP as well, but again, that is not the default. I would imagine that the best solution would be to have the program ask the user to supply the paths via a browse dialog on first run and store the result for future use in a configuration file. |
Re: doms3 path on windows --> modscanner project
bb: thanks. I was avoiding that solution, because then I'd have to implement a preferences file setup too. Oh well.
