Chayot: Not so bad afterall

Everyone who has tried the chayot, the supposed alternative to mighty seraph, knows she doesn't really hold the candle because of scripting issues. Chayot is lvl 4 mage in 4 different paths but can only use one path at a time in controlled manner, which is less than optimal. However, I was toying around today and stumbled into this not-seen-before-trick (I hope) while trying to make chayot worth the pearls.

Behold the unlimited power! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

With RoW our precious chayot gains some extreme power boost, because now one can use spells from all the four paths available in the same battle (including crosspath spells) and imagine what this does to chayots forging capabilities.

Equip her with, say, staff of elemental mastery/astral skullcap/rainbow armor/boots of messenger/amulet of reinvigoration/RoW (of course) and you have more or less the most powerful battlemage ever who is very close to being S6A6F6E6 mage for all intents all purposes. Just for kicks, start your script with power of the spheres for additional +1 to every path.

So if you have the astral economy capable of using wish, give chayot a whirl, she will rock you. Alternatively if playing Ashdod, cast their capstone national spells "call merkavah", and I guarantee nothing is more entertaining to watch than ophanim rolling over all oppostion while the chayot collapses the universe from the back lines.

Yes. Power boost to any of chayot's four paths will appear in all its forms. It is not clear if chayot is superior to Seraph as an SC, but it has no equals in diversifying your nation's magic paths.

Do path boosts, such as PotS or other boosters last when it changes forms?

How about Communion status?

I thought people were of the opinion the chayot was markedly superior to the seraph. It certainly has far fewer weaknesses and it's much harder to counter.

I know I do.

Oh, interesting. Somewhat balanced by having duel-bait astral in the other forms, I suppose -- even RoW + RoS + skullcap would mean S3.

Astral level used in Magic Duel is base only - no boosters.

Which brings up an interesting question: Can you Magic Duel a Chayot when it has no (visible) astral magic??

So what happens if S4 chayot is dueled and died? It just appears as the next form?

Ok.. I'm not getting the discussion because to much abreviations are used.

seriously what is RoW (and then the rest)

And if you can Magic Duel a Chayot without Astral does it count as 0S or 1S?
