Q: how to get holy 4 or 5?
 

the subject says it all. what nations can get commanders with 4 and 5 holy, without communion, and how? Does making a prophet always give you 3 holy?

All prophets get H3 if they are below H3 before. If you make a natural H3 hero a prophet, they get H4. After that, some high level magic items give you +1H.

Here's a cut and paste from my comments on the the Ermor thread:

"There are several ways to increase Holy level. They are Prophet(one H3), Crystal Shield(E1,S1 for for +1H) or Power of the Spheres(S1 spell and one pearl for +1H), Communions or Sabbaths(easy to get a +2H with four slaves), two artifacts(+1 Hs), Hellpower(B3 and 3 slaves for +2H, beware the Horrors)..."

Crystal Shield is something like e2/s3, and you need a point in some magic in order to get the bonus in holy level. You can't just put a crystal shield on your typical priest to get h2.

Wonderful information, that is the first I ever heard that a priest needed a magic point for the shield to work on his holy level. I tried the crystal shield several different times on H2 priests for divine bless and it never worked. Now I know why.

I read that in another thread which I can't find now. :-)

I've put shields on H1 and H2 priests and they don't work, just like you.
