Battles could be more informative/interactive

I think that the battle replays should have more to them; more oppurtunities for quick reference. What i mean is, in the top left, when it says "so and so has cast this" you should be able to click that message to read a description of the spell. Also, I would like to also be able to click the name of the caster in those messages to go to that casters position on the battle field.

I am finding it hard to learn from big battles to spot my mistakes and/or the opponents strengths without being able to navigate the replay with any sort of effeciancy. There should be (if not already, somebody help me) a way to go back a turn/round, like there is a function to go foward a turn. Sometimes you miss things.

There should be a function (if not already, sombody point me in the right direction) to speed up and slow down the replay. Fast foward and slow motion.

I left my book back at school, where I don't go back for a week or so, does anyone have a quick reference of the hotkeys during battle replays?

You can speed up the replay with f and you can(possibly after restarting it to catch something you missed) skip replay turns with the n key.

the biggest speedup I found to the battles was adding the switch to the game to kill those fade-ins. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Im guessing you are a windows user?
right-click the dom3 icon that starts the game,
scroll down to properties, then look at the line that says "Target". Add switches to that (after the quotes if there are quotes). I think its -f that you want to add.

Here is a list of all the switches

Here is what Ive got on my Dom3 icon
-fwacd --magicsites 65 --renaming --indepstr 7 --hofsize 15 --eventrarity 1

I have a couple switches I use, I didn't know the sintax for that one. Thanks.

Of course, you might mention that the reason for saying, "Im guessing you are a windows user" is that the bloody switches don't _work_ on windoze. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

If any of the switches done work in windows then please let us know.

But the reason I guessed he was a windows user is that they usually dont say they are a windows user. Mac and Linux often say they are altho thats becoming abit lax also.

Oh sorry, I didnt mean it was an insult.
Well, in a way it is. Windows people tend to take for granted that everyone is on windows. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
