About this forum?
 

Am I the only one who finds this forum to be redundant and silly? For one thing, Dominions isn't like many of the other games, where #1, games may be over quickly (thus leading to a need for new games) and #2, games get started quickly with small (2-4) numbers of players. For such games, an Opponents wanted forum makes sense.

In addition - look at the contents of this forum. Prior to this posting, 9 out of 14 threads have no responses made in the last 6 months - not very active / relevant a search for opponents. And of the 5 (now 6) active threads, one is a question that would more properly go on the main Dom2 or Dom2 MP (now afteraction reports???) forums, and this one is a meta-post regarding the forum itself.

Adding lots new forums may well have made sense for other games / forums, but it really doesn't for Dominions. Please scrap this one, and return the "afteraction" forum to being the Multiplayer one.

That way, there's a single logical place to look at ongoing games (which are separate and distinct from AARs imo, and 99% of the game threads are notAARs at all), to look for announcements of new games, and to see requests for replacement players and/or temporary subs, neither of which is really a request for opponents.

Or do a lot of other people think this forum is a good thing?

I think this forum isn't really necessary for Dom2. The way the forum upgrade happened, all the forums were given the same subforums as a 1st step. But the structure isn't set in stone, and can be tweaked to suit individual games.

I am going to post a reqest for input from the board users in the main forum, and if a consensus evolves on the best setup for Dom2, I'll request Mindi make the changes.

I agree that it isn't necessary to have the third forum. All we need is:

1. General discussion of Dom 2; and
2. MP game discussion of Dom 2.

The third one is throwing me for a loop.
