Default \"YSR\" = On ?

Is there a file somewhere that I can edit that would set the default for displaying "YSR" next to the planet to be ON instead of OFF? I've looked, but haven't found anything. TIA.

It's not in a file, it's in the in-game menus under:

Empire Status
Empire Options
System Display

You can also turn on the system grid there. Really handy for calculating movement.

Right, I was just wondering if there was a file that I could edit so that the default was ON and I wouldn't have to change it every time I started a new game.

A small annoyance I know, but....

I think it's stored with your race characteristics if you save your empire to a file, and reload 'em for another game.
